White Out
In this monochrome kitchen, the focus is on modern minimalism and perfectly styled displays. Organised worktops, handleless cupboards and the open-plan layout all make for a refreshing and practical kitchen, ideal for entertaining. Suspended above the central island, these simple elongated pendants in gloss white create an eye-catching display, completely fitting with the style of the space.
Hanging Gems
Floor-to-ceiling dark cabinets, dramatic marble worktops, and a rustic stone floor… there’s a lot of attention-grabbing features in this intriguing kitchen design. What really caught our eye, however, was the delicate set of three pendants hanging over the front bar area. Faceted glass creates a jewel-like appearance, and the thin gold cords add an element of understated glam to the kitchen.
Concrete Cool
In this sleek handless kitchen by Portland, an uncluttered and modern look is created with white gloss cupboard fronts. Contrast and texture is brought in through the black frame bars stools, and the statement trio of concrete pendants. Hanging over the central island, the pendants bring an industrial edge to the space, as well as being practically useful for illuminating the food preparation area.
Lantern Light
Tasteful and traditional, this neutral kitchen uses brass elements to elevate it to a whole new level. Old-school style brass taps, brass cup handles, and of course the beautiful brass pendant duo that captures the attention straight away… The inclusion of glass reflects the natural light in the kitchen, and allows the candle-shaped bulbs to really shine through.
Hidden Glow
We love this relaxed country-style kitchen space. Cream cupboard fronts and warm natural wood create a welcoming vibe, and one can almost smell the fresh bread cooking in the oven… Vibes aside, how amazing are those huge pendants? Our favourite detail is the subtle gold lining hidden within the neutral cream light shades…
Exposed Bulbs
Dark and dramatic, this unique kitchen uses a mix of natural materials such as the wooden cupboard fronts and rough brick wall. Paired with matt black worktops and tiles, the creatively hung pendant clusters are the finishing touch that really balance the kitchen design scheme. Exposed bulbs and thick black wires make these pendants a refined take on industrial style.
Copper Crazy
In this Portland kitchen, elements of copper bring the space to life, not the least these beautiful hammered copper pendants. Placed centrally over a double side island, with washing up facilities on one side and a bar seating area the other, these pendants create a glowing feature.
Designer Statement
How could any kitchen including the iconic Flos pendant lights feature anything more significant? Although we admit the glass splashback, marble-topped island, and wooden barstools deserve some mention, it’s those pendants that stop us in our tracks… Cue serious jealousy from any design- conscious friends!
Glass bubbles
In a similar strain to the Flos pendant lights, these beautiful glass spheres are subtle independently, but look incredible en mass. Elegantly floating down over a central eating area in the otherwise simple kitchen design, they would capture everyone’s attention and mesmerise guests at the table.
Industrial Luxe
These matt black pendants are so stereotypically an ‘industrial look’, they wouldn’t look out of place with exposed ceilings and concrete surfaces. This stylish kitchen, however, uses them to create a central display over a stunning black marble island. With bistro-style bar stools, and parquet floor, we can’t really capture this look in words. All we know is it works incredibly well, and those pendant lights are largely responsible.
