the brief

This couple approached Portland to supply a large customised kitchen and utility room for their new-build house. Both needed to be highly practical and hardwearing for family use, but also make a statement. Portland put forward matching doors from the Malmo matt painted and Malmo veneered ranges, and supplied the veneered doors unfinished as the customer wanted to stain/lacquer to their desired shade. The customer also want to integrate a curved seating area for family meals, tucked discretely behind a bank of mid-height units.

Designers tips

Consider building curved walls to eliminate dead corners in your kitchen. Portland designed this kitchen to flow in an arc around the corners so the worktop space can all be utilised, it also looks very elegant!
